Scottoiler KTM Kit

To make day-to-day maintenance easier I've fitted a Scottoiler to keep the chain lubed automatically. I opted for the £65.95 standard kit and fitting it was no problem - it only took me an hour. The reservoir nestles neatly under the left-hand sidepanel, while routing the pipes around the bike was no problem - you get enough tubing to fit the luber to a bus! For the moment I've used tape to secure the oil pipe to the swingarm, but the fitting kit includes a conduit to glue to the arm and I'll use this when I get round to it. The way it works is very simple. Engine vacuum, via a tube connected to one of the carbs, opens a valve so oil can drip on to the chain as you ride. So far it seems to be less messy than using ordinary spray on chain lube and the flow stops when you turn the engine off - so nothing dribbles all over the garage floor when the bike is parked up.'
