Ive always used shaft drives in the past but having used the oiler on my Triumph I can say I don't see the advantage of a shaftie because of the weight disadvantage and odd handling which despite what others say can never be tottally irradicated. The Scottoiler has kept my chain clean and almost fling free it hasn't need adjusting over a heavily used summer, it's brilliant. Many Thanks, Nick Turnbull
Just a word to thank all you guys following our visit to you whilst on tour, you made us very welcome and certainly explained what a waste of time it is continually buying chain lube. So had a new chain and sprocket kit fitted and a SCOTTOILER!! Cheers. Glenn McIntyre, after visiting the Scottoiler HQ
We have always been convinced of the value of Scottoilers and knew we wanted them on the F800GS for our London to Beijing Expedition. You do not want the hassle of lubricating and adjusting your chain at 5000 metres altitude and with a Scottoiler fitted we won't be. Kevin Sanders, Co founder of Globebusters
The new eSystem really does bring the idea of chain lubing into the present and beyond. Its great to have them on all our bikes, as it reduces mess and we can adjust them to suit the weather conditions. Andy Ibbott, Class 4 coach, California Superbike School These days, when the biker is seen as a minority and a danger and whereas the prospective customer is sometimes treated like a nuisance, it is refreshing to come across a company that is, not only professional, but downright helpful to boot. Not a mean feat these days... Scottoiler make, in my humble opinion, not only one of the BEST modifications/accessories that you will EVER fit to your bike, but are also one of the friendliest companies you can deal with. Not a mean feat these days.. Not only were they on-hand to help with ANY question I had, but they surpassed themselves by sending me a FREE sample of their MCN-awarded FS365 simply for sending them photos of their product fitment on my v-tec VFR: just out of decency AND because they know the value of the customer: whether you're a journo, professional or just a normal biker. (unlike many other MCN-awarded companies, one of which said, and i quote, 'why should we give away that which we can sell?' to which i would reply, 'I don't know- because you care about your customers, upon whose recommendation your business depends?') Scottoiler. What can I say?! If you haven't got one fitted, why not?! If you don't use FS365 why not? If you haven't dealt with Scottoiler why not? You will be treated as I have and, in my humble opinion, Scottoiler deserves to go from strength-to-strength. You earned yourself a lifelong biking customer guys! Not a mean feat these days! Davy S Russell Hope you don't mind the intrusion...but just wanted to drop you a line. (And i'd appreciate it if you cc my remarks to all in your team) I'm relatively new to motorcycling only 18mnths in the saddle but love it more and more each day. Won't bore you with my enthusiam for the endeavour but instead i just want to say thank you . I've just purchased one of your MK7 universal kits and am going to install it over the weekend. I'm really impressed with it, well designed, well made, well packaged, and home grown to boot. Wierdly i think i was most impressed by the little rectangle of sandpaper..not for what it is but what it represents... And to me that is thoughtful consideration of your product and customer. i can't remember the last time i purchased something that has moved me to write to its originators and i think 'that' gets to the heart of this....Your product (and through it your company) display attention to details and quality that in far too many cases these days have been lost. Yes it may just be a clever little plastic valve but i think its great! To all at Scottoiler, well done and thank you....long may your success continue Best regards Since installing the product we have all found that the chain and sprocket sets are all lasting 3 times longer and as they cost up to £130 each the Scottoiler has paid for itself many times over. Mr Paul Dawkins It also seems that we have the force....... I have received the new control box yesterday. I have fitted it immediately to be able to test it today when I gone at work. It works perfectly. I'm very Happy and I thank you very very much. I repeat you have the best customer service I have never seen. Stay like you are, this your difference and your force. Have a good day. Stéphane. Dear All at Scottoiler, Just a few words of appreciation to you all for a customer service that has been second to none, which is a very rare commodity in this day and age. In the instances that I have required new parts, service of the unit, or information about fitment, it has been taken care of promptly and with expertise of the highest standard. Will you please say a big thankyou to all at Scottoiler. Your Thankfully, The Scottoiler has to be one of the best and most must have inventions in the motorcycle industry after the Helmet. Overall, the Scottoilers have performed fantastically. On my YZF750R I actually only have to adjust my chain every time I replace my rear tyre (2-3000 miles), Haynes says every 400 miles! On my girlfriend’s FZR600R I have never had to adjust the chain apart from tensioning it when the Scottoiler was originally fitted. Approx 2000 miles ago. On the ZZR, a new DID XFM chain was fitted before the trip and now 3000 miles later the chain is still fine and has not had to be adjusted. Generally speaking the above bikes are thought to be hard on chains, the fact that we are able to leave the chains untouched for at least 2000 miles suggests that the chains are wearing at around 1/5 of the usual rate. At over £120 each for a chain the savings from having a Scottoiler fitted are quite obvious. In my opinion, anyone with a chain driven bike should invest in a Scottoiler before buying a sports can. You will soon save the money to buy the exhaust anyway. Kieran and Darren I think the Scottoiler chain lubricating system is the best after market addition you can ever fit to a motorbike. I just thought I'd let you know how pleased I am, & I'm hoping to break the 40,000 mile barrier early next year. Kind regards Mike Fielder, UK "I have a complaint. I am off to the Italian Lakes on Sunday on my Suzuki Bandit 1200. I have over 25,000 miles on the clock and I am still on my original chain and sprockets. I should be on my third set by now, but I have only adjusted the original chain once so far, and there is not much sign of wear. Regards Not only is the Scottoiler Product line full of brilliant accessories (i have a cramp buster and mark 7 kit), but they are at a price that can only be described as a bargain. The oiler saves hours of chain care, and increased chain life saves a fortune. Combine this with the best customer service of any company i have ever dealt with, i wanted a spare part and it was despatched immediately free of charge, i am a very happy customer. Regards "Very disappointed in your product, as a fulltime motorcycle mechanic i can safely say it is the most complicated pile of crap device designed to oil a chain, PLEASE STOP MAKING this TURD immediately!." Anon, New Zealand "I just wanted to thank you for all your customer support. I received your e-mail and attachment last week and followed it's instructions. I primed the unit, and all is well. Everything is working properly again. You guys are great! In an age of disappearing customer service, I'm amazed at all you did for me. Please pass that on to your company principals. Thanks again for all your help. Scottoiler is one product and company I will recommend to all my motorcycling friends. Take care, and happy new year. Sincerely "Do not hesitate in naming me on the web page as i am happy to sing your praises to any one prepared to listen, top people doing a top job. I have written to MCN as well, as you are clearly the most helpfull, professional people i have ever had the the good fortune to deal with. Thanks again and you deserve every success." Richard Ansell, UK.
What fantastic work you lot do, and what fantastic products! In an era of dwindling work ethics it's great to know that at least one company and it's employees are not resting on their collective laurels and continually strive to improve an already brilliant product - I am referring to my Scottoiler MK 7 and Dual Injector. I bought my Triumph Thruxton 900 new in March 2005 and ordered & fitted a few weeks later the Scottoiler MK 7 & a dual injector, and bought two additional 500ml bottles of "blue" oil. Fast forward to August 2010: 1. I've only now just run out of oil. Yes, that's right! Whatever oil was in the kit, plus the 1 litre that I bought in 2005, has lasted me more than five years! 2. I can honestly say my Scottoiler hasn't (yet) saved me a penny, since I've not yet had to replace chain and sprockets and don't know how long they should last... The bike's showing 47,550km on the clock (actually it's about 2,500 more than that since the speedo cable has broken twice on seperate touring hols) - AND I'M STILL ON THE ORIGINAL CHAIN AND SPROCKETS! I've been touring, commuting, track-days - 50,000km / 5 years, 9 months a year - in all Finnish weathers - and my OW01 / Aprilia RSV-R Mille owning mate (a recent Scottoiler convert) will attest to the fact that I ride the Thruxton on full chat A LOT of the time. And it's only JUST starting to show signs of wear: I still have LOADS of adjustment left on the chain! (I reackon I can go another couple of years / 20,000km - I'll try to remember to let you know how it goes...) 3. The dual injector is INCREDIBLY efficient. In June this year I toured 6,820km of Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, France, Belgium, Holland then back through Germany, Denmark, Sweden to Finland. I filled the *standard* MK 7 reservoir before leaving. And topped it up twice whilst on tour (although, admittedly, I probably didn't even need to top it up the second time). This is no fluke - I had similar experiences in 2007 when I did a 4,900km tour of Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Czech Rep., Poland, Lithuania, Latvia & Estonia. And 2008 when I did Stockholm to Bremen in a day. TIP: two sewing machine oil bottles, filled with Scottoil stuffed under your seat. You'll get thousands of miles from these two small bottles, they're always with you, and they come with a built-in reservoir filling spout. 4. Chain adjustment - check every 2,000km, adjust every 4,000-6,000km. 'Nuff said. AND NOW THE BAD STUFF... it seem's a bit petty to complain about oil "fling" at this point, doesn't it? Last week an autumn twig lying on the road took off my dual injector - you can imagine how gutted I am. Ah well, a replacement dual injector and another 5-year supply of oil (1 litre!) is already on it's way to Finland - so I wanted to take this opportunity to say a BIG thank you to everyone at Scottoiler. YOU GUYS ROCK! Best wishes, Tim Perring AFS Cycle Oiler:I use the Bicycle oiler on my commute cycle. Prior to fitting the system I was wearing out chains at a rate of about 1 per 6-8 weeks depending on the weather, and spending time cleaning the chain twice a week. Since fitting the Scottoiler that's changed to about once per 9 months, and even then that was at a very 'preventative' stage. Chainset and cassette wear is non-existent. And of course this doesn't take into account just how much smoother the drivetrain runs. Duncan Tindall, UK. F800GS Kit:Hi, just a line to say I am very impressed with the Scottoiler on my BMW F800GS, It was fitted by the shop (Southport Superbikes) when the bike was new. The bike was serviced at 600 mile and no chain adjustment was required then I checked it again at 1500 miles and again no adjustment required. Today with the bike having done 3200 miles I checked again no adjustment required. I even consulted the BMW handbook to convince myself that I was checking it correctly which I was. I mainly ride on country lanes and have done some very mild green lanes and played against sports bikes on the twisties. Again Thanks for a great product that actually does what the box states. Bob Baker, UK. Crampbuster:Bought the CrampBuster today - what a revelation! I was having doubts about being able to ride my new Honda Deauville for more then a few hours, but the Cramp Buster has immediately relieved chronic wrist ache. Many Thanks. FS 365:Hi, Just to let you know, I am a maintenance engineer and at work we decieded to test your protector 365 on a piece of mild steel unpainted. We got two pieces one untreated and one treated with fs365. All winter the two pieces stayed outside and we coated the test piece regulary with 365. To add to the test we added rock salt to both pieces. Amazing results, the untreated piece badly rusted and corroded, the treated piece just like new. Iam convinced that you have a top qualiity product once again. I have had a Scottoiler on my bikes for many years, also an amazing product. Thanks for such high quality products. Regards, Very good product, highly recommended, an excellent and easy way to prevent rust Every biker needs this product. This is so easy to spray everywhere and makes it easy to clean your pride and joy after a good ride. Good value anti-corrosion spray, if used regularly the cheapest way to protect your bike. Very good product, lasts for ages |
