Installing Your Scottoiler Motorcycle Chain Lubrication System

Scottoiler recommends starting the installation of your Scottoiler motorcycle chain lubrication system at the dispenser end.

Once you get this right you can work your way up to wherever you’ve chosen to locate the reservoir and simply trim off the excess length of tubing before attaching it to the reservoir spigot.

Using one of the dispenser plates supplied in your Scottoiler motorcycle chain lubrication kit will result in more accurate and reliable positioning of the tip of the injector nib on the face of the rear sprocket.

The large dispenser plate is used on the rear spindle, secured by the spindle nut.  On Sports bikes, or those with lugs or threaded holes for paddock stand bobbins, the small dispenser plate can be mounted from these, either with a bobbin or a bolt.

When using the dispenser plates, both the outer sleeve of, and the metal rod inside, the delivery tube can be removed. A small (20mm) section of the outer sleeve can be refitted and gripped by the dispenser clip on the plate. Removal of the sleeve and rod will make routing of the delivery tubing along the swing arm neater and less clumsy, allowing it to be glued and pressed into small sections of conduit which are also glued to the swing arm.
