Company Legacy<\/b><\/h5>\n

We\u2019ve carried out some quick maths and worked out roughly how many chains we\u2019ve saved from going to landfill! The number works out at roughly 1.75 million chains since we opened our doors 40 or so years ago, based on the number of kits sold as well as how much we can increase chain life (by on average 3.5 times). As a business it\u2019s always good to know that your kits are in demand, they\u2019re doing what they\u2019re supposed to and they can help bikers around the world. But it is a great feeling to know that we\u2019ve helped avoid so much scrap metal being dispersed around the world.<\/p>\n

Around the Office<\/b><\/h5>\n

The best place to start is Scottoiler HQ, where we combine both an office and production setting in order to best streamline operations. All of the lighting around the office was ripped out and replaced with LED strip lights in order to ensure less energy usage\u00a0 \u2013 the energy we do use has been gathered from our solar panels too. We also operate a Cycle-To-Work scheme which allows everyone the option to lessen their emissions by not taking the car every day \u2013 or even the bike! Use of the public transport systems around the office are encouraged too.<\/p>\n

We also abide by *the* environmental standard, ISO 140001 to ensure that our standards are in line with other participating businesses across the globe \u2013 and we have maintained our status as a Carbon Neutral business since 2018. We\u2019re always looking for more suggestions\/initiatives\/actions to take or abide by \u2013 please contact us with any ideas.<\/p>\n

Product Focus<\/b><\/h5>\n

In 2022, we announced our new Scottoiler Biodegradable All Climate Oil (we\u2019ll allow Bio Oil) and we made the Biodegradable a standard option with our Systems alongside our Standard Blue and High Temperature Red Scottoil.<\/p>\n

The Green Bio Scottoil is readily biodegradable, as well as operational in all climates, this oil is perfect for those wanting to minimise their footprint every time they ride as well as ensuring they\u2019re sorted for any climate that may be thrown their way (Scotland is good for throwing up random combinations).<\/p>\n

We also offer a great warranty repair service \u2013 and where possible we will do our best to repair a system before replacing it entirely. We also offer re-manufactured kits that are taken from returned or repaired stock and resell it on our outlet store \u2013 this means we can reduce our waste while offering our customers great savings.<\/p>\n

Further Afield<\/b><\/h5>\n

As the inventor of the Scottoiler, Fraser has improved the lives of so many motorcyclists all around the world. He was incredibly passionate about his invention and grew Scottoiler from a tiny business to become world leaders in automatic chain lubrication.<\/p>\n

Since his passing on the 7th<\/sup>\u00a0June 2022, we\u2019ve heard many wonderful stories from those involved in the motorcycle industry about Fraser\u2019s eccentricity, kindness and passion and as a result we wished to set up a way for those who knew Fraser to celebrate his life in a special way.<\/p>\n

We decided to set up a Memorial Grove in Fraser\u2019s name, facilitated by Trees for Life. For a small donation Trees for Life will plant a tree in the Scottish Highlands, with the aim of rebuilding the Caledonian Forest. We felt this aligned with Scottoiler as an environmentally conscious and carbon neutral business, as well as being a nice way to celebrate the life of Fraser.<\/p>\n

Moving forward we will continue to donate to Trees for Life every year. Help us grow the forest and donate to Fraser\u2019s Memorial Grove here.<\/a><\/p>\n
