Customer Service / Tech Support Officer

Location: Milngavie, Glasgow

Contract: Temporary (6 Months – Fixed Term)

Excellent package: £20K – £25K, including benefits


An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Customer Service & Technical Support Officer is being offered. You will join a team of enthusiastic individuals committed to the success and growth of an established business.



Scottoiler is a multi-award winning designer and manufacturer of chain lubrication systems. The core products of the company are automatic motorcycle chain oiler systems which provide a constant supply of oil to the drive chain as the chain is in motion. The company has developed a successful international reputation and brand with quality products and a strong emphasis on customer service. Scottoiler exports primarily in Europe and is one of only six companies in the world to have dual branding with BMW Motorrad. Scottoiler has a strong focus on current and emerging markets and is seeking to grow into new industries globally in line with an ambitious forward looking strategic plan.

Reporting to the Commercial director, the key focus of the Customer Service & Technical Support Officer role is to ensure all customer technical and warranty enquiries are dealt with in a prompt and appropriate manner. In addition the individual will be responsible for product training and installations on customers’ motorcycles, both at dealerships and in our workshop.

Founded in 1986, Scottoiler is a family owned and managed business based in Milngavie, Glasgow, employing a dedicated and friendly team of motorcycle and cycling enthusiasts.



We require a Customer Service & Technical Support Officer to work within the motorcycle industry with end users, dealers, distributors and manufacturers to support the Customer Support and Technical function of Scottoiler. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer support with a good technical understanding of motorcycles being desirable although not essential. This is initially a temporary role to cover staff absence with the potential to develop as the business takes on more opportunities.



  • Daily frontline interface with customer (telephone & email)
  • Recording of customer engagement & remedial actions to be taken
  • Daily communication with cross functional departments regarding technical issues/common themes
  • Support the Research and Development of new communication & engagement tools for technical support
  • Actively seek areas for improvements in current technical support processes including recording and analysis/test of warranty returns
  • Analysis/Evaluation and recording of product returns
  • Support the R&D product development process and ensure customer feedback is captured during product development
  • Carry out system installations on dealer & customer motorcycles, internally and on dealer premises
  • Update model specific installation guides as appropriate
  • Attend shows/exhibitions as frontline interface with customer



The successful candidate will have a customer support or motorcycle industry background.

Candidates should also possess excellent organisation, communication and interpersonal skills.

This role requires the person to be dynamic, forward thinking and willing to go above and beyond.



  • The role is based in Milngavie and may require some travel within the UK.
  • The role will require the use of Display screen equipment and Microsoft office work packages.
  • The role will require a Valid Driving Licence and Passport for dealer/OEM visits.
  • The candidate should be flexible and able to work to tight deadlines (regular or ad hoc)
